VOLUNTEER WITH THE OU CLUB OF HOUSTON!
Every year we host Big Event with OU Club of Houston the same weekend OU holds their Big Event in Norman. The Big Event is the University of Oklahoma's official day of community service.
2025 Big Event
Are you ready to make a difference while connecting with nature and your community? Join us on Saturday, April 5, 2025 to garden atThe Commons in Hermann Park Conservatory —an opportunity to roll up your sleeves, dig in the dirt, and leave a lasting impact at an iconic Houston park with your fellow OU alumni! REGISTER HERE.
- When: Saturday, April 5th at 9am - 12pm
- Where: Meet at Wortham Pavilion @ 6001 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77030
- What to Expect: They will have us support with weeding, mulching, tending to the garden, or raking leaves depending on the need that weekend.
- Family Friend: Our volunteer coordinator is a former teacher and is excellent with getting kids involved in the fun, and using this as a learning opportunity! Plus being at a park, allows for them to have some fun while we volunteer!
- What to Wear: Closed toed shoes and long pants! Clothing could get dirty or muddy depending on the activity.
- What We'll Provide: Water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent
- What the Park Will Provide: All the tools we need to help them in the gardens.
